IOI WORLD CONFERENCE: REGISTER NOW AND PROFIT FROM AN EARLY RATE

The 10th International Ombudsman Conference will be held in Wellington, New Zealand from 12 to 16 November 2012. Registration is now open and can easily be completed via the conference website. IOI TRAINING: REGISTRATION FOR VIENNA TRAINING IN SEPTEMBER IS OPEN

Following two IOI editions of the successful “Sharpening Your Teeth” training programme, the IOI is organizing a new training session which will take place from 16 to 19 September 2012 in Vienna, Austria. Course registration will run until 30 June 2012.

SERBIA HOSTS COUNCIL OF EUROPE NPM WORKSHOP

The 9th thematic workshop “Irregular migrants, Frontex and the NPMs”, the final workshop within the framework of the Council of Europe's "Peer to Peer II" project was held in Belgrade 12-13 June 2012. The event assembling several ombudsman institutions was hosted by the Protector of Citizens of the Republic of Serbia.

EUROPE/FRA: UPDATE ON THE SITUATION OF ANTISEMITISM IN THE EU

A new FRA Working Paper includes statistical data on antisemitic incidents collected by supranational, governmental and NGO sources. The update shows that antisemitism remains a problem for civil society as a whole and for Jewish populations in particular across the EU.

CANADA: ONTARIO OMBUDSMAN RELEASED 2011-2012 ANNUAL REPORT

In his report, Ontario Ombudsman André Marin called on the government of Ontario to protect the public interest in tough economic times by ensuring citizens have the opportunity to complain to his office – as more than 18,500 of them did in 2011-2012.
